Colourful nails ^^

One of the things I always thought I really had to do when I came to Japan was get some nice nails... that was until I found out how much they cost!

I believe there are machines for having nail designs stamped on your nail somewhere... have not come across them yet (or haven't noticed them), although I feel quite uneasy about sticking my fingers in a machine....

Lucky enough there are plenty of mags all over the place where I can just sit and drool over the amount of cute (and tacky) designs there are... one day, when I'm rich... sigh...

Ueno zoo

Ueno zoo is located inside Ueno Park, right by JR Ueno station. Although it wasn't the only place we meant to go it was the only thing we had time to see, 'cause it's absolutely huge! The adult ticket costs 600 yen (although it's free on the 20th of March, 4th of May and 1st of October), but one admission to the zoo is included in the Grutt pass. I really enjoyed the Night forest (夜の森)which was a dark enclosure to fool nocturnal animals into action, as well as the impressive Shinobazu pond.

You can check out a map of the Zoo here. There are plenty of places to sit down and eat a picnic (you can buy food and drink inside, although it's a bit expensive) and plenty of drinking water all over the place.

Starting off from Tokyo

I've actually been in Tokyo for about a month now, and although I'm not usually into writing I figured that there's so many strange and awesome things here that it's worth putting something up on the net... so here's my little corner of weird, random and profound thoughts (and photos) from hot, humid Japan in August :)
